D-Type
Individuals playing above consensually take physical, emotional, or mental control over other individuals. This can be for the duration of a session , a gaming relationship or, in the best case, a romantic relationship. Sounds like fun, but it also means a lot of responsibility for the well-being of the submissive.
| Top | A person who consensually controls what is happening in BDSM activities. Top is more of a kind of umbrella term for a variety of dominant roles. |
| Judgment / Judgments | short for “dominant” and uses it to designate a person who consensually assumes power, authority, or control in a relationship, session, or other activity. |
| Brat-Tamer | A dominant person who disciplines a submissive but rebellious person and sees this as a challenge. |
| Daddy / Mommy / Caregiver | A person who assumes a paternal or maternal caring role within a relationship dynamic and ageplay . |
| Master / Mistress | A person who agrees to take ownership of a person with whom they are in a relationship. |
| Sadist | A person who enjoys inflicting consensual humiliation or pain on someone. Be it emotional, mental or physical. |
| Rigger / Rope Top | The active part in rope bondage , which ties up one or the other person by mutual agreement and taking safety risks into account. |

S-Types
In forums and BDSM literature, they are often written with a lower case letter to underline the status. Individuals playing below submit to other individuals physically, emotionally, psychologically , or even financially. This can be for the duration of a session or as part of a gaming or romantic relationship. However, giving up control does not mean giving up responsibility, but being clear about your wishes and limits and not being afraid to formulate them clearly at any time.

| Sub | A person who agrees to submit or relinquish control in a relationship, session, or activity |
| Brat | A person who enjoys engaging in one or more of the following behaviors to challenge a dominant counterpart: teasing, playful, sneaky, mischievous, stubborn, rebellious, disrespectful, or disobedient. |
| Little | A person who feels like an infant in age or is willing to adopt infantile behaviors and seeks a relationship with a parenting or caring reference figure. See also ageplay . |
| Middle | A person who identifies with or behaves with a younger mindset, such as in their teenage years, and seeks a relationship with a caring but strict parent figure. See also ageplay . |
| Serf | A person who agrees to give up total control to someone with whom they are in a relationship. Note : “Serf” is a new term from the USA for the variety commonly understood under the term slave:in. Due to the problematic historical significance and the triggers it still triggers in some people today, we no longer support the use of the terms "slave" and "slave" in public spaces, preferring the term "serf" from now on, i.e. " servant, serf”. |

| Primal | A person who enjoys animalistic games, behaves like a primal animal, rejects rules, traditions and protocols and prefers to define their own role. |
| Furry | A person who identifies as an animal or creature with human characteristics, wears costumes or symbols that represent the animal. |
| Spanko | A person who loves spanking butts or other body parts and being spanked himself. |
| Exploring | Someone who is exploring the world of kink and doesn't want to commit themselves. |
| Evolving | Someone who is in the process of changing or redefining his or her kink personality. |
| Not sure | Are you brand new? It doesn't matter, nobody has to commit themselves from the start. You often find your kink personality through sharing it with others. |
